About the Shawls
The shawl maker begins by selecting the type of yarn & choosing the color. Sometimes it is chosen for the recipient's favorite color or birthstone, however many shawl makers select the color based on the symbolism attached to it (e.g. red symbolizes energy & love; acqua is a symbol of courage & harmony).

The shawl maker may knit/crochet in her choice of pattern but the original pattern was given careful thought by its creators. It is a basic 3-stitch seed pattern (K3, P3). The significance of three is symbolic in many religions, concepts & phases of life (e.g. Father, Son & Holy Spirit... Body,Mind & Spirit ...Birth, Life & Death, etc...).

From the very beginning, the shawl recipient is being prayed for, so when the shawl is complete, it has been filled with blessings & prayers. God's love is in every stitch. It is a gift of love, comfort, peace & hope, which not only benefits the recipient, but the shawl maker as well.
